School of Nursing and Midwifery
Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS), School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lalitpur Nursing Campus (LNC), established in 1959 AD, stands as one of Nepal’s pioneering nursing education institutes. Originally founded to train professional nurses for Shanta Bhawan Hospital (now Patan Hospital), it was initially known as Shanta Bhawan Nursing School and operated under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (TU IOM).
In August 2015, a tripartite agreement was signed between TU, PAHS, and LNC, facilitating the merger of LNC with PAHS. Consequently, LNC became a constituent nursing school of Patan Academy of Health Sciences, now known as the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNAM).
