Department of Integrated Basic Science
The Department of Integrated Basic Science was established since the inception of Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) in 2010. The Department of Integrated Basic Science constitutes Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pharmacology.
The Department of Integrated Basic Science is involved in the delivery of undergraduate medical and nursing curriculum. Both the undergraduate medical and nursing (Bachelor of Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery) curriculum of PAHS embraces the integrated organ system based approach with the problem based learning as a principal teaching learning method. Faculty are involved in education, research and hospital laboratory services. As a part of their involvement in teaching learning activities, faculty contribute in facilitating PBL sessions, delivering interactive lectures, conducting practical sessions and assessment of students. Faculty are also involved in the various clinical, basic science and educational research activities. In addition, Biochemistry and Microbiology are involved in providing hospital laboratory services.
