Department of Surgery

The Department of Surgery at the Patan Academy of Health Sciences comprises experienced and dedicated faculty members committed to providing the highest quality care for a wide range of surgical conditions. The large volume of surgical patients we attend to annually is a testament to our excellent outcomes and patient satisfaction. Our commitment to well-established surgical practices, combined with modern technology and innovative approaches, enables us to deliver safe and quality surgical care at a reduced cost and with minimal hospital stays.

The Department of Surgery at PAHS is engaged in both clinical and academic activities. Besides providing in-patient, out-patient, and operative services, the faculty are involved in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. The department is actively involved in medical research, with faculty regularly participating in national and international conferences.

 

Divisions within the Department:

1. Division of General and Gastrointestinal-HPB Surgery
  • Services: Breast diseases, hernias, hydroceles, varicose veins, proctological conditions, emergency surgeries, esophageal diseases, gastric and duodenal conditions, colorectal services, HPB services, cancer surgery services, laparoscopic surgery services.
2. Division of Urology
  • Services: Endoluminal surgery (TURP/TURBT, RIRS), percutaneous endoscopic surgery (PCNL), laparoscopic surgery (pyeloplasty, nephrectomy, adrenalectomy), urological cancers, management of strictures and stones, reconstructive surgeries, emergency urological services.
3. Division of Paediatric Surgery
  • Services: Antenatal counseling, neonatal surgeries, paediatric urology, paediatric onco-surgery, paediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery, emergency surgeries, paediatric minimal access surgeries, day care surgeries.
4. Division of Neurosurgery
  • Services: Neurotrauma, spine surgery, neuro-oncology, treatment for infections, pediatric neurosurgery.
5. Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Services: Reconstructive surgery (burn care, post-traumatic defects, vascular lesion treatment, congenital anomalies, microsurgery, hand surgery), cosmetic surgery (face, breast, buttock, tummy tuck, ear, scar revision).
