Department of Dermatology and Venereology

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) is dedicated to improving skin health. Our department provides standardized treatments for various skin conditions and conducts research to support education and continuous improvement in patient care.

  • Treatment for infections, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and other skin, hair, and nail diseases.
  • Clinical and epidemiological research.
  • Affordable dermatological care.
  • Scientific and evidence-based care for skin diseases, sexually transmitted infections, and HIV/AIDS.

Services Available (Note: All dermatosurgical procedures are appointment-based)

  • Treatment for all kinds of skin, hair, and nail disorders.
  • Treatment for all kinds of STI/venereal diseases.
  • Removal of moles, freckles, warts, skin tags, and tattoos using LASERS.
  • Reduction/Removal of unnecessary hairs using LASERS.
  • LASER Therapies (Fractional and Ablative Co2, Q switched Nd YAG, Long Pulse Nd YAG).
  • Electrofulguration/Electrocauterization, Cryotherapy.
  • Scar surgeries.
  • Split ear repair.
  • Narrow Band Ultraviolet therapy for vitiligo, psoriasis, etc.
  • Chemical cauterization.

  • PG program:

    All the trainee/residents are actively involved with academics in the form of case presentation, seminars and journal presentations. The academic roster is updated yearly and usually released one month prior so that the trainee gets adequate time for its preparation.
    The topics covers wide range of the syllabus and focuses from the basic to the high yield which is the requisite that has to be fulfilled by a postgraduate trainee.

    Post graduate residency program is a competency-based program trained and evaluated across PAHS eight core competencies.
    The assessment tools used are : Core content review/Case based discussion/DOPS/Mini-CEX/EPAs/Fieldnotes
