DEPT OF RADIOLOGY & IMAGING
Residency program in Radio diagnosis at PAHS started from 2018 and aims to provide three years of consecutive training that involves progressive responsibility. The mission of our training program is to educate physicians who will be prepared at the end of their training to become leaders in the field of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging as professionals, teachers, researchers, and advocates.
The residents at the end of the training will be:

- Clinically sound, skilled, creative and competent to independently perform and interpret almost all kinds of radiological & imaging investigations, therapeutic radiological procedures and interventions.
- Fully aware of radiological hazards and competent enough to minimize and prevent the risk associated with conducting radiological procedures.
- Able to advise concerned authorities regarding radiation hazard & safety to patients, staffs and general public
- Able to teach and guide his subordinates in performing various radiological investigations and imaging studies
- Capable of providing leadership in the field of radiology
- Able to function effectively in resource constrained facilities.
- Clinically sound, skilled, creative and competent to independently perform and interpret almost all kinds of radiological & imaging investigations, therapeutic radiological procedures and interventions.
Radiology one case of the day [RADOC]
Viber group RADOC is formed with the principle – Small steps will lead to the big achievement.
Spotters on each day of the week will be uploaded in addition to short case on Friday and answers on Saturday. All residents are advised to participate actively in the group.
Assessment
The methods of assessment for Postgraduate students will include Formative assessment, Summative assessment and Thesis.
This will be competency based program, so trainee will be assessed to see whether the competency has been attained or not. This program requires demonstration and documentation of the competencies. The change in behavior will be measured using various tools evaluating Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). The tool will be observable and measurable; executable within a time frame; suitable for entrustment decision; assessment result framed as permission with designated level of supervision; allocated to individual.
Competency is assessed by EPA forms periodically. Increment of score is an efficient sign of learning. Score of 8 or 9 is required for eligibility to sit for examination. The topics are as follows:

- Diagnostic by CBD & Mini-IPX forms –
- Stroke imaging
- Collapse/consolidation
- Acute abdomen
- General abdominal ultrasound, anomaly, carotid Doppler, DVT
- Procedural skills by CBD & Rad DOPS forms
- Biopsy
- Drainage procedures
The resident also has to be certified in core competencies, namely; professionalism, patient centered care, procedural skills, clinical reasoning, communication skills, scholarship, community oriented and leadership.
There will be two annual exams and one final Exit exam.
